Research Processing Addendum
Version 2026-11. Optional and separate from the service terms.
1. What this adds
Warka runs a computer-vision research program to improve verification and presentation-attack detection. With this addendum, the Customer permits Warka to use eligible captures for that program. Using the service does not require accepting it.
2. Warka's role
Where Warka decides the purposes and means of research, it may have direct data-protection obligations of its own, separate from its role as a processor for attendance verification. Warka will meet those obligations.
3. Customer attestation
The Customer's representative attests that the Customer has obtained and keeps authorization for scientific research covering the people whose data becomes eligible, and that the Customer will deliver any notices the circumstances require. The authorization is client-attested. Warka has not independently verified it and holds no individual consent documents.
4. What becomes eligible
Data is eligible only if this addendum is in force, research is switched on for the organization, and either the Customer's backend marked the identity research_use_allowed or the Customer chose to cover all enrolled people and attested to that. In every other case, no research use happens.
5. How research data is handled
Research samples use pseudonymous subject identifiers. Pseudonymization is not anonymization. Access is limited to authorized Warka research staff with multi-factor authentication, and every view or export is audited. Warka does not infer demographic attributes from faces. Warka does not train or deploy models on this data automatically.
6. Retention
Raw captures follow the same 90-day limit unless the parties agree a longer research retention period in writing and it is configured for the Customer.
7. Withdrawal and erasure
The Customer can restrict an identity, or switch research off, at any time. New ingestion stops at once, and existing samples are removed from research storage and from future dataset versions. Dataset versions already exported, and results already published or embedded in trained models, may not be fully reversible. Warka keeps a record of which dataset versions contained removed samples.
8. Publicity
This addendum is not permission to name the Customer. Public use of a Customer's name or logo needs its own separate permission.
